24 September : Molesey Club Event

Molesey PC welcome visitors from other clubs to hear Roger Reynolds Hon FRPS give our annual Arthur Mole Lecture titled  “The Landscape and Wildlife of the United States”, on Tuesday 24 September. We meet at the East Molesey Methodist Church, Manor Road, East Molesey KT8 9JU. Please arrive by 7.45 for an 8.00 start. There will be a £5 charge for non-members for this outstanding presentation by Roger, former RPS President and well known travel and wildlife photographer.

The following describes the talk:

“The United States of America bordered to the East and West by the two largest oceans in the world has within its borders an amazing diversity of landscape and wildlife. This ranges from desert to high mountain ranges, large forests and areas of fertile river valleys surrounding some of the largest waterways on earth.

I have visited the United States for some twenty five years with my travels covering 48 of the 50 states. A large part of my time in the United States have be spent photographing the amazing diversity of the landscape and wildlife found here.

My lecture “The Landscape and Wildlife of the United States” is intended to offer a small glimpse of the diversity that the country has to offer. The lecture will of course visit many of the iconic landscape locations as well as many of the beaten track locations. It will also offer the viewer the option to experience a variety of climatic conditions. The natural history aspect of the lecture will cover a wide variety of flora and fauna from such hot spots as Florida as well as an intimate look work undertaken during the spring in the high mountains of Montana or winter on the Rio Grande River.

It is only right that such a lecture should cover in depth the first and greatest of all America National Parks, Yellowstone. The lecture will give an insight into this amazing location through spring, autumn and winter. Here we can witness the amazing thermal features, the diversity of wildlife and the wonders that winter brings to unique location.”
