This edition of the Club’s Newsletter marks the end of the 2016-17 season. Once again this has been another thoroughly enjoyable year at the Club.

Firstly, I would like to apologise for the rather late publication of this edition. I’ve had quite a bit going on this summer; I haven’t even had time to take many photographs! As a consequence, finally preparing this edition has been a real pleasure as it gave me the opportunity to remind myself of the wonderful images that our Club has produced. You are inspirational!

The end of the season marked a significant change in our various officers. Most notably we said farewell to Michael and Doris; we will miss them (see Debbie Whitton’s interview with Michael on page 3) but I’m sure you’ll all agree that Marian is making a fine new Chairman.

The breadth of engagement from our members in keeping the Club running smoothly is encouraging, especially from relatively new members. I have included a reminder of the various roles in the ‘In the Background’ section on page 5.

Most of the events since April are covered in this edition and I am confident that the Open Evening on 13th September will be another great success.

I thank those of you who have contributed by writing articles etc for this Newsletter. The aim is to give a flavour of the spirit of the Club, covering all aspects of our activities and I hope this has been achieved in this edition.
